The Iranian Women’s Movement started in the 1960’s, the movement consisted of protests and civil disobedience, this sparked a lot of controversy throughout their culture since their religion shunned equality for women. The continuous protests communicated the women’s opinions, united them, and started a world wide conversation.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
